The old valve, buried in the wall needed replacing as it would not completely shut the water off. The previous style valve, known as a “gate valve” looses its seal over time. We had to dig it out and replaced it with a “ball valve” allowing for far easier and faster operation.

Everyone in the home should know where the building control valve is and how to use it in case of emergency.
