Founded in 2002, we are Florida’s premiere independent advocacy organization, our mission is to obtain meaningful and sustainable improvement in Florida’s child-serving systems. We bring the problems, concerns and interests of vulnerable children to the attention of people who can make changes. We always seek systemic improvements – sometimes by focusing on the needs of an individual child, other times by addressing regional and statewide problems.

Tee knows firsthand how difficult life in foster care can be, but with the right support, everything can begin to change.
Through our Florida Youth SHINE program, Tee found mentorship, community, and the confidence to turn their experience into purpose. With the support of their mentor, John, Tee is now using their voice to advocate for and uplift other youth in foster care.
At Florida’s Children First, we believe every young person deserves someone in their corner—and opportunities to be heard.
