Our maritime weekend stay was hosted by Raffles Boston.
Harry said he wanted to see big ships. Boston understood the assignment. ⚓️
We spent the weekend watching Sail Boston Parade of Sail, with tall ships and naval vessels from around the world filling the harbor for America’s 250th. We cruised alongside them with our good friend Charlie (Charlie Nutting), stopped for a picnic 5 miles at sea out by Grave’s Light, and saw everything from Mayflower II to Old Ironsides.
The highlight for Harry was boarding the Dominican Navy’s Juan Bautista Cambiaso. The crew welcomed us aboard, showed us around, and even let him play captain for a little while. Brian Abreu Armada de República Dominicana
Between the ships, the picnic, and seeing it all through Harry’s eyes, it was such a special family weekend. Thank you, Raffles Boston, for making it one we won’t ever forget. 🇺🇸⚓️

Today I’m feeling especially grateful for the simple, beautiful things this country has given us: summer days by the water, flags waving from porches and boats, parades on Main Street, sandy feet, old friends, family gathered close and the freedom to celebrate this place in our own way.
In a world that can feel so divided, I hope we can remember what has always made America worth loving: faith, family, friendship, courage, kindness, traditions, laughter, neighbors, and the people who show up for each other.
Here’s to the Americans we love, the memories we make together, and the hope that the next 250 years bring more grace, more gratitude, more understanding, and more moments like these.
May we put down our differences when we can, hold tight to what is good, and keep building a country worthy of the generations coming after us.
Happy 250th, America. Here’s to love, friendship, freedom, and another 250 years of all the things that make us grateful to call this place home. 🇺🇸❤️
