South Florida Modern Quilt Guild

ard, Miami-Dade and Martin counties. We are a chapter of the national Modern Quilt Guild and our members receive all the benefits of that organization as well as our own local benefits. Our interest is in modern quilting, which can include many approaches—reinterpreting traditional ideas with modern fabrics, using modern design aesthetics like negative space and alternate grillwork, improvisational work, and embracing simplicity and minimalism. Modern quilting, like all art, changes, grows and adapts from quilter to quilter as they find their own voice. The Guild meets monthly in Boca Raton, Florida and holds regular workshops at different locations including Boca Raton and Fort Lauderdale. Quilters of all skill levels and interests are welcome to participate in meetings, workshop, sew days, show-and-tell sessions, swaps, bees and other fun events!
