🆘 Furcules needs an adopter by 5:00, 5/7, or he will be euthanized! 🆘

Furcules arrived at the shelter on 4/26, as a stray. He came in at a time when the shelter was overflowing with the intake of dogs and he was placed in half a kennel. If it’s not bad enough to be trapped in a kennel for days on end, imagine half a kennel. 😩

Furcules was immediately stressed, leaping and jumping in his kennel with his ears pinned back and dialated pupils. He was panting, whining and barking. 😢 As far as we know, he was removed daily for cleaning but not taken to the play yard for 6 days and not evaluated for 8 days. Dogs can not be placed up for adoption until they are evaluated. Furcules was immediately placed on the portal with a deadline. 😭

Furcules is 2 years old, 47 lbs. He was soft and wiggly when called over and picked up by the Animal Control Officer. He takes treats gently and knows “sit” and allows petting. He will need adequate decompression time and separation from other dogs with slow introductions. Please give Furcules a chance in your home. You can meet him at Maricopa County Animal Care and Control West Shelter.
