A fantastic personal acquisition today. An original copy of Instruction for Field Artillery by a Board of Artillery Officers, 1860. Often known also as Hunt, Barry and French.
This copy is from 1863 and is in excellent condition.

But—thanks to careful research and primary sourcing from John Becker Jr., we now know that this popular image isn’t quite accurate, Becker’s records reveal that Knox primarily used horses for the journey from Boston through New York — not oxen!
