Mercier Orchards in Blue Ridge, Georgia has been family-run since 1943, and it feels every bit like a small-town tradition. You can spend the morning picking apples, peaches, blueberries, or strawberries...over 40 apple varieties grow here...then hop a tractor ride through the rolling 300-acre farm. Inside the market, the bakery shelves are stacked with fried pies, cider donuts, fritters, and jars of jams and apple butter. Locals will tell you the fried pies taste the same as they did generations ago. In the tasting room, you can sip hard cider or fruit wines made right from the orchard’s harvest.
