We specialize in air and water test and balancing of heating and cooling systems. We also perform sound and vibration testing, and indoor air quality testing to verify IAQ meets LEED standards prior to occupancy. After testing fume hoods recently, we have a couple of recommendations.
1. Lab equipment should not be placed on the work surface within 6 inches of the sash plane.
2. Don't hang lab coats on the k***s on the side of your hood. This may affect flow patterns.
3. Don't block your hood opening, example don't place large gas cylinders near sash plane opening.
4. Don't block the back of the hood either- this is where your baffles are located.
5. Do have your fume Hood checked annually.
We perform airflow face velocity testing, local and large volume challenges, and tracer gas testing. We have not included pictures to protect the guilty...

John Brue, founder of BPI, passed away at home yesterday. A celebration of his life will be held on Friday at 11am at Illinois Wesleyan Evelyn Chapel 1301 n park st. We miss him!
