Babywearing should feel supportive, not stressful 🤱

When done incorrectly, babywearing can lead to neck, mid-back, and lower back strain. Proper positioning, weight distribution, and carrier fit are key to keeping both mom and baby comfortable.

It’s time to get a grip! 💪

A recent study found that individuals with higher grip strength had lower odds of developing hand osteoarthritis over time.

In fact, the group with the strongest grip strength had 54% lower odds of developing symptomatic hand osteoarthritis compared to the weakest group.

The good news? Grip strength is something you can train through resistance exercises, carrying weights, climbing, or using a grip trainer. 🏋️

Strengthening your hands and forearms may help support long-term hand health and function.

Now that the weather is nice, lots of people are back on the golf course. ⛳

That also means we’ve been seeing more golfer’s elbow.

Golfer’s elbow causes pain on the inside of the elbow and is often linked to repetitive gripping and swinging. While strengthening is important, treatment should not stop at the elbow.

A golf swing is a full-body movement. If the hips, spine, or shoulders are not moving well, extra stress can be transferred into the elbow.

That’s why evaluating the whole movement chain matters. 🏌️

If elbow pain has been affecting your game, call now to book an appointment with our clinic!

Still struggling with chronic plantar fasciitis? 👣

Plantar fasciitis is often more than just irritation at the bottom of the foot. Tightness in the calf muscles and surrounding tissues can also contribute.

Stretching and strengthening can help, but a recent review found that combining soft-tissue therapy with exercise led to greater improvements in heel pain, foot function, and ankle mobility than exercise alone.

Feel like your tennis elbow just isn’t getting better? 🎾

What if it’s not actually just tennis elbow?

A recent study found that 44% of patients with persistent tennis elbow symptoms also had radial tunnel syndrome, a condition characterized by irritation of a nerve near the elbow.

This means you could be doing all the “right” exercises, but if a nerve is involved, symptoms may persist.

That’s why getting the right diagnosis matters. 💡

If your elbow pain keeps coming back or isn’t improving, call now to book an appointment with our clinic!
