Digital Literacy Summer Workshop for 3rd-8th grade students
Monday, June 22-Thursday, June 25
9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Birmingham Public Library, 2100 Park Place (2nd Floor Youth Department)
Ishaan Jain, Sophomore at Indian Springs School, is offering this free workshop!
This four-day workshop transitions 3rd-8th grade students from everyday technology consumers into digital creators and operators.
Using subjects relevant to their interests, such as gaming mechanics, sports, and design - this 12-hour program breaks down exactly how the digital world is engineered. Through an interactive projector setup, live 3D printing, and hands-on logic exercises, the curriculum progresses from physical engineering to advanced artificial intelligence.
Students start with 3D design, move into digital architecture and game logic, and finish by mastering AI, giving them the tools to actually build the apps, games, and media they interact with daily.
