We are an organization whose main aim is to relieve the suffering of the homeless and low-income community in Birmingham, AL. We are dedicated to trying to educate and involve the members of the community in programs and services which are available to them, and to monitoring such services and making sure they are providing the services they profess to offer.

We would like to invite everyone to the 6th Annual Byl Boyd Summit for the Homeless, Saturday, September 7, 2013, at the Church of the Reconciler, 112 14th St. N., Birmingham, Al. The event will take place from 9:00am - 2:00pm, with registration at 8:00am. The Summit is of course free to the public, and we hope it will be very informative and a lot of fun for all. This year's theme is 'Changing Perceptions,' and will address the ways the homeless community sees itself, as well as how it is viewed by the greater community in the city. We will have workshops and breakout sessions dealing with subjects such as knowing one's rights; Services Available to the Homeless Community; Housing Prospects; and Relations with area Shelters. There will be lunch provided, and some interesting displays to see. Hope everybody comes!
