Laila Edwards is officially headed to the Winter Olympics, becoming the first Black woman to compete in ice hockey for Team USA.
The 21-year-old trailblazer was named to the U.S. Women’s Ice Hockey Team for the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympics, marking another milestone after previously becoming the first Black woman to join the national team.
