💐Congratulations to Lindy Vizzinia, District VIII Elementary Teacher of the Year and a finalist for the 2026–2027 Alabama Teacher of the Year. “Mrs. Art,” 🎨 as her students call her, teaches at Wills Valley Elementary School in Fort Payne.

The Alabama Teacher of the Year program is one of the state’s oldest education awards. The program is coordinated by the Alabama State Board of Education and Alabama State Department of Education. Sixteen educators have been officially selected as finalists for this year’s recognition. This year’s Alabama Teacher of the Year will be announced on May 13. 🏆 Good luck, Mrs. Art!
