Back to Hippotherapy today after having the long winter off! We are so grateful to the people at Stable Movements for providing this opportunity and environment for our sweet boy.

Nixon uses Hippotherapy as a form of physical therapy because the natural movement of the horse is great for his development. It has also helped him make huge gains in communication and is also used for OT. Hippotherapy is great for so many different needs though- physical development, sensory impairments, communication, even cognitive development.

There is so much thought and research behind the things I request for Nixon. This world is full of opportunities for him and although we usually have to put up a fight to open those doors, they are worth every bit of frustration, sadness, and tears. He is worth it. The progress I saw after Nixon began hippotherapy last summer was amazing and his growth never stops, which means that as exhausting as the days can be, I will never stop. Because he deserves the best. The best life, the best opportunities, the best shot at becoming more than what any piece of paper says he can’t do. He definitely is here to prove people wrong and make a difference in this world and I’m here to make sure he has the ability to.
