Happy Independence Day to the country of Senegal 🇸🇳. Senegal gained their independence 61 years ago today from France. Following thereafter Ghana's independence a month prior, Senegal gained their independence after breaking away from the Mali Federation, which was formed by merging Senegal and the French Soudan in 1959. The national language is French and the secondary language is Wolof. They are currently fighting forms of oppression by their own government against their own democracy.

Trendsetter Thursdays is a post where we highlight Binghamton University and A*O alumni who have selected careers based on their majors and encountered many challenges while pursuing them. Therefore with our future ado, we would like to intro our Introducing our first Trendsetter for this Thursday, Florence Nkrumah, who served as our Co Public Relations and Senior Advisor 2016-2018. Additionally, Florence created her own initiative called Building Health Bridges which strives to benefits neglected communities in Ghana that are facing health disparities.
