I was happy to welcome two of my constituents, Jessica and Deron Neumann, to my Harrisburg office. They were visiting the Capitol to advocate for continued funding for citizens of the Commonwealth who live daily with very serious blood-related health issues.
It was also very nice to meet with two of their friends who come from a different part of the state, but also shared with me how important state funding has been for them and has saved and preserved their lives and the lives of their loved ones for many years.
Lehigh Valley Hospital is just one location in Pennsylvania that is actively providing life-saving care to people with all types of blood-related life-threatening conditions.

It was a beautiful day in Salisbury Township when Senator Nick Miller and I joined with friends, staff and supporters of the Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania at a ribbon cutting ceremony for Camp Mountain House.
Senator Miller and I advocated for and happily delivered state grants totaling $250,000 for a major modernization project at the camp. Showers, bathrooms, bunk rooms, a kitchen and bright new activity spaces were unveiled at the newly renovated building at the top of the camp.
As a former Girl Scout myself, I know that the Girl Scout organization does a wonderful job preparing the girls and young women of today to be the great leaders and good citizens of tomorrow!

Sunday, June 14, commemorates the adoption of the United States flag. Since a 1916 proclamation by President Woodrow Wilson, this date has been marked as “Flag Day.” Congressional legislation designating that date as national Flag Day was signed into law by President Harry Truman in 1949.
From 13 stars to 50, the American flag has been a symbol of freedom and liberty throughout the world. To learn more about the history of the American flag, click here: https://www.loc.gov/item/today-in-history/june-14

I was proud to stand with Judy Bieberfeld, just one example of what an amazing woman veteran is like!
So many fantastic women have served our nation through so many years. We can never be grateful enough for their service! My late mother-in-law, Regina Brown, was a woman veteran who served as a WAC in WWII.
Heartfelt thanks go out to all of them on Women’s Veterans Day!

A great group of physical therapy students from DeSales University visited me in Harrisburg to discuss some pending legislation.
Their program director, Ethan Hood, Doctor of Physical Therapy, accompanied them as they enjoyed taking in the sights at the Capitol.
