Fatal House Fire on Harmon Road
This morning, MCFRS firefighters were alerted to a house fire on Harmon Road. Upon arrival, units found a split-level single-family home with heavy fire on the second floor extending through the roof. Firefighters quickly initiated a fire attack while conducting searches of the residence. Despite challenging conditions, including a partial roof collapse, crews were able to bring the fire under control.
Tragically, two elderly occupants of the home lost their lives in the incident. Additionally, one firefighter sustained minor burn injuries and was transported to MedStar for evaluation and treatment.
This is a heartbreaking loss for the family, friends, and community. Please keep the loved ones of the victims, as well as the responding firefighters and emergency personnel, in your thoughts during this difficult time.
