We are delighted to share that The Uganda ORCID Hub, operated by the Research and Education Network for Uganda (RENU), has recently become an ORCID Certified Service Provider (CSP) in the Research Information Systems category. π
This Hub enables member institutions to make trusted assertions to ORCID records, including affiliations, education, employment, and funding through a secure, scalable shared infrastructure. Supporting both federated authentication via the RENU Identity Federation (RIF) and API-based workflows, it improves research visibility, strengthens institutional reporting, and enhances global discoverability of Ugandan research outputs.

We all know that African scholarship deserves a seat at the global table, but to get it there, we need the right digital tools doing the heavy lifting. πβ¨
The "why" of ORCID is a no-brainer by now. Now, letβs get into the "how." π οΈ
For the next ORCID in Action: Africa session, weβre "opening the hood" to look at technical integration. ππ¨ Think of this as a peer-to-peer blueprint session for IT leads, librarians, and institutional heads who want to build a bridge between local research and global discovery without the guesswork.
What we're diving into:
β
Live Demos: See exactly how these integrations work.
β
The Roadmap: Real talk on timelines, resources, and clearing hurdles.
β
Real ROI: How to slash that admin workload and boost your institution's profile.
Letβs stop just talking about visibility and start building it! π
