CalChat started when Jesse, Nelson, and Jon signed up for the Code4Cal Hackathon back in early 2012. The idea for CalChat itself stemmed from a desire to help students in the same classes and departments connect better, and to foster a real campus community online by building a product that was tailored to Cal. We've been selected as finalists in the STC Web App Competition!

CalChat wins the grand prize of $3000, taking home the Grand Prize and the People's Choice Award for a combined total of $4000!!!

CalChat CalChat is a web app that hosts chatrooms for every class and building on campus with the goal of connecting the cal campus community. By logging in with Facebook, students can talk to fellow students in the same building or class, make friends, find study partners, and stay in the loop.
