CalSol is a team of undergraduate students who design, build, test, and race fully solar-powered vehicles at an international level, all while innovating and raising awareness of clean energy technology. It was founded in 1990 with its first student-built vehicle, California Dreamin’. Since then we have designed and built nine more vehicles, claiming multiple awards and demonstrating strong performance. This year, we are racing our finest vehicle yet, Excalibur, and creating our next generation 11th vehicle.
