Students 4 Hip-Hop is a student and community organization based out of UC Berkeley. What began as a small group of Cal students in 95 who just knew they wanted to hang out with other hip-hop heads in the area, has grown to be one of the most well-recognized unofficial non-profit organizations in the East Bay promoting hip-hop music, culture, and academia. Students 4 Hip-Hop has found ways to inco
rporate the career interests of its members while staying true to the culture's principles by creating committees that deal with the organization's finances, publicity and graphic media, journalistic publications, and community outreach, all the while working to help make thrive the music and culture they originally fell in love with. S4HH is responsible for the annual free/all ages Hip-Hop in the Park concert held @ People's Park in Berkeley, California. The group also organizes monthly block party style event known as Rock the Block which is a tribute show to the original 4 elements of hip-hop. Local MCs, DJs, bboys/bgirls, and graph artists are invited to this event to show their skills and hopefully gain recognition from the surrounding community. We are always looking for fresh artists trying to come up in the hip-hop game, especially those who support our views on youth education, respect for women, the struggle for social justice, and a more positive reflection of our culture in the media. If you'd like to find out more about how you can perform at one of our events or get involved with our coordinating committees, please holla at us. 1 Love 1 Struggle Hip-Hop You the Love of my Life
