The Enact Team spent yesterday volunteering at the Alameda County Food Bank. Through the combined efforts of 70+ volunteers, we sorted and bagged:
* 8,133 lbs of oranges
* 1,498 lbs of tomatoes
* 4,635 lbs of potatoes
* 1,444 lbs of zucchini
The total of 15,710 lbs equals about 13,000 meals. 1 in 5 families in Alameda need assistance per year. We recommend that you check them out if you are looking for ways to become involved with your community.
