Ala Costa Centers

I hope this finds you in good health and high spirits as we enter the holiday season. We’re thrilled to announce that Ala Costa will be participating in Giving Tuesday again this year to raise funds for projects that will enhance our adult and afterschool programs, directly benefiting our incredible students.

This year, we’re focusing on two exciting projects:

1. 🅰︎ 🅵︎🆁︎🅴︎🆂︎🅷︎ 🅵︎🅰︎🅲︎🅴︎ 🅵︎🅾︎🆁︎ 🅾︎🆄︎🆁︎ 🅼︎🅰︎🅸︎🅽︎ 🆁︎🅾︎🅾︎🅼︎

Our afterschool students spend much of their time in our main hall, a space for games, snack and lunchtime, small groups, singing and dancing on stage, Lego building, and so much more! To create a more inviting, vibrant environment for all these activities, we want to have the main room professionally painted. This project builds on last year’s kitchen update, which your donations made possible, and is the next step in the beautification of our afterschool space.

2. 🅰︎ 🅲︎🅾︎🅼︎🅼︎🆄︎🅽︎🅸︎🆃︎🆈︎-🅱︎🅰︎🆂︎🅴︎🅳︎ 🅼︎🆄︎🆁︎🅰︎🅻︎ 🅿︎🆁︎🅾︎🅹︎🅴︎🅲︎🆃︎ 🆆︎🅸︎🆃︎🅷︎ 🆃︎🅷︎🅴︎ 🅴︎🅳︎ 🆁︎🅾︎🅱︎🅴︎🆁︎🆃︎🆂︎ 🅲︎🅰︎🅼︎🅿︎🆄︎🆂︎

Our adult program will be leading a community mural project with our partners at the Ed Roberts Campus. The mural will be a collaborative art piece installed on the north side of the campus. Designed and painted by members of the Ed Roberts community, neighborhood residents, and our adult program participants, the mural will reflect the voices and visions of everyone involved. Funds raised will go toward supplies and stipends to pay our adult participant artists for their work.

We are also pleased to share that the Ed Roberts Campus board has pledged additional funding for this project. Any surplus from our campaign will be reinvested in our emerging art program to purchase new supplies, expanding our curriculum and creative opportunities for students.
