One Stage. Two Generations of Bay Area Jazz.
On June 13, we celebrate the 21st Annual Dick Conte Jazz Piano Scholarship Benefit Concert and honor this year's recipient, Jesse Ashlock.
For more than two decades, Bay Area pianist, broadcaster, and Jazzschool friend Dick Conte has marked his birthday by supporting young musicians through the scholarship fund that bears his name. This year, Berkeley High School student and Jazzschool Young Musicians Program pianist Jesse Ashlock joins that tradition.
As part of the evening, Jesse will take the stage alongside Dick Conte and his quartet—a special moment connecting a young artist at the beginning of his musical journey with a musician whose influence has shaped generations of Bay Area jazz listeners and performers.
Join us for a night of great music, community, and celebration.

A beautiful night of music, history, and community.
Our final AAPI Heritage Month Salon brought together Francis Wong, Jon Jang, Scott Oshiro, and Roopa Mahadevan for a rich conversation on Asian American jazz and its deep roots in the Bay Area.
Thank you to our artists, collaborators, and everyone who showed up to be part of it.
