Happy Lunar New Year, everyone! I hope 2026 is off to a fabulous start for you!

After a nice break to work on my writing, I'm back to making candy and preparing for my next booth at the Nikkei Matsuri in San Jose Japantown on Sunday, April 26th from 10-5!

If you like tropical flavors, I'll have gumdrop flavors like

pineapple orange passionfruit 🍍
orange mango 🍊
passionfruit punch 🥭..and more!

Sunday's menu for the J-Sei Artisan Faire in Emeryville from 11-4!

I'll have six kinds of baked goods:

-Peanut Butter Sesame Cookies

-Candied Ginger and Black Goma (sesame) Cookies

-Hojicha (roasted green tea) cookies

-Telegraph Molasses Cookies (named after the first time I sold them at the Telegraph Holiday Fair)

-Classic Brownies

-Hojicha Pecan Snowball Cookies (made with my special hojicha powdered sugar)

No gluten ingredients. Everything is vegan (made with organic cane sugar, no dairy, no eggs). Several items are soy-free.

I'll also have lots of gumdrops - over a dozen flavors of fruity, sour, and ginger flavors!

Basket special on gumdrops - $5 each or 5 for $20. They make great small gifts!

For people who like hard candies, I'll have Yuzu, Matcha, and Hojicha.

And, of course, we can't forget people watching their sugar - I'll have dried fruit and spicy ginger tea for them.

Dried Grapefruit, Kalamansi (Filipino citrus), and Lemon make great additions to cocktails or hot/cold/sparkling water.

Dried bananas are great for humans or dogs!

My Spicy Ginger Tea is only for ginger lovers - 100% dried organic ginger for a soothing, warming hot cup of tea to help with digestion, boost your immune system, and keep you warm this winter!

And for those who want a comforting, familiar flavor of fall, dried apples won't disappoint.

This will be my last booth of the year - next planned booth will be in April. Hope to see you on Sunday!

This weekend!

Come by J-Sei in Emeryville this Sunday from 11-4 to check out the annual Artisan Faire!

They'll have food, shopping, an artist talk and book signings, and entertainment!

We'll have our usual goodies, including handmade homemade baked goods, gumdrops and hard candies, and dried items with no added sugar.

Lots of new flavors along with familiar favorites!

Keep an eye out for the menu and feel free to email if you want me to set anything aside for you!

Many thanks to everyone who supported our first booth in San Diego last weekend!

It was a great turnout for Kiku's first Aki Matsuri with great entertainment, food, activities, and shopping!

We were so happy to see so many familiar faces - thanks for coming out and supporting!

It was a long drive but well worth it. We had beautiful weather and a great time attending the festival and talking with everyone. And we sold out of all of our sour gumdrops!

We tried a different arrangement at the booth, organizing everything in baskets. People seemed to like it - let me know what you think! 😉
