From pink slime to pyridoxine hydrochloride, burgers are getting scary, especially for our kids. We commend schools that use natural foods and have been a long-time supporter of the Berkeley School Lunch Initiative. And, just in case you were wondering, our delicious beef burger patties have only three ingredients - Prather Ranch ground beef and a pinch of salt and pepper!
What's Inside The 26-Ingredient School Lunch Burger? : NPR Thiamine mononitrate, disodium inosinate and pyridoxine hydrochloride are just a few of the hard-to-pronounce ingredients in a typical school lunch burger. But some schools are phasing processed food out and are bringing scratch cooking back to their kitchens.
