Dear Parents,
Happy Mother’s Day. Mother’s Day isn’t just about a birth mother, race or gender. It is about the person who shows up and fills that role. As someone who was raised by my grandmother. I know what an impact that can make on someone. My grandmother isn’t here anymore for me to wish a Happy Mother’s Day to. That doesn’t lessen the impact she made on my and my siblings lives. I also know filling this role seems like a thankless job at times. Trust me down the road the person you show up for will truly appreciate everything you do for them now. So, from one Mother to all those who fill that role, Thank you for everything you do for those you have chosen to show up for. We don’t do these things to receive any rewards or accolades. We show up because it is the right thing to do.
