As you celebrate with family and friends, make safety part of your holiday plans.

πŸ”₯ Fireworks safety reminders:
β€’ Attend a professional fireworks display whenever possible.
β€’ Keep children and pets a safe distance from fireworks.
β€’ Never relight a firework that doesn’t ignite.
β€’ Keep a bucket of water or a hose nearby.
β€’ Fully soak used fireworks before throwing them away.
β€’ Never use fireworks while impaired by alcohol or drugs.

If you’re grilling, keep your grill away from homes, decks, and anything that can catch fire, and never leave it unattended.

πŸŽ† Fireworks Safety Reminder from Bennington Fire & Rescue πŸš’

As we celebrate with family, friends, and fireworks, please remember that safety comes first!

βœ… Keep a bucket of water or a garden hose nearby when using fireworks.
βœ… Only use fireworks outdoors in a clear area away from homes, dry grass, vehicles, and other flammable materials.
βœ… Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
βœ… Keep children and pets at a safe distance.
βœ… Light one firework at a time and move away quickly.
βœ… Never relight a β€œdud” firework. Wait at least 20 minutes, then soak it in water before disposal.
βœ… Dispose of used fireworks by soaking them thoroughly in water before placing them in the trash.

❌ Never hold fireworks in your hand while lighting them.
❌ Never point or throw fireworks at people, animals, or structures.
❌ Never use fireworks while impaired by alcohol or drugs.

Remember: Even sparklers can reach temperatures of over 1,000Β°F and can cause serious burns.

Let’s work together to keep our community safe and enjoyable this holiday. If an emergency occurs, call 911 immediately.
