The pressure put on schools and teachers to prove that children are “successful” at school translates into test-driven, one-size-fits-all learning experiences. Children are being prepared to be good at receiving a grade, being an employee, and fitting into a mold. There is a paradigm shift happening, as families and educators are seeking more, thinking outside the box to design programs that honor the development of the whole child – mind, body, and spirit – and recognizing that the purpose of education should be to cultivate a sense of wonder and love of learning that extends not only beyond the classroom but the entire life of each child. Obsidian Education seeks to be at the forefront of this paradigm shift.
