Happy Spring everyone! The past few days have been gorgeous for sure.

Many of you have asked about the kitty who used to lay on the heated mat outside and greet everyone. We thought we would give a little how she came here and update on her, named by Lori she is Ethel Mae. :)
A year ago October we noticed her and asked all our neighbors if they were missing a kitty, all of them said no and they noticed her just appear. We started feeding her a bit and keeping an eye on her. Last spring she started waiting for Alex at dusk on our back patio to "help" him put away our farm animals.
The they would hang on the patio chairs and she sat on his lap for a bit then off she went. Then she started greeting all of us at the lodge door every am and pm for meals. She got more comfortable with all of us and you guys.
We tried a few times to get her in a carrier to take to the vet and both times she completely scratched up Alex and would disappear for a few days. Finally I found Juniper Country Vet and they came and gave her a checkup and vaccinations.

That was probably Oct of 2023, after clean bill of health Alex and I (Anji) started slowly working with her on trust and let her decide if she wanted to come say hi inside our house. After a month or so she would come in after the farm, stay only in our large living room, and about 5am with the sun come to our door and yell loudly at Alex to let her out. She didn't come in every night but it slowly was coming.

Fast forward to the big snow dump and freezing temps we got in January and she was forced (not by us, by the cold and her new love of comfort) to be inside day and night. Now she is pretty much indoor but does venture out a few times a day to roam.

She has slowly slowly slowly ventured to different parts of our house and become comfortable. Every week is a new milestone and its been fun to experience that. We think she was maybe abused before and dumped here in a not nice manor.

We have had a few people a little worried to ask afraid she wasn't around anymore due to of course a bad circumstance. Butm happy report she is safe and healthy and has 2 dogs who drive her nuts following her around. LOL

Thank you for being amazing!! Enjoy the silly pics of our new "ruler" of the household. Hehe
