Second 20 lb system installed for in NJ.
After a week-long training with their crew last year, they reevaluated production data and determined their CO₂ system was limiting throughput. Increasing hydrocarbon capacity opened up more SKUs, shortened time to market, reduced post-processing time, and cut down on ancillary equipment.

Big shoutout to LS Mechanical in Carteret, NJ! Solid group with a good understanding of plumbing and electrical, not afraid to tackle a project with constraints. Knocked this one out of the park for us!

Most people get this wrong when designing hydrocarbon systems.
It’s not about oversized recovery lines. You don’t need 1” or larger tubing to run a solid passive setup. At 50 psi, 3/4” tubing can flow over 51 lbs/min of butane v***r. So where’s the real restriction?
Your molecular sieve.
Flow is limited at the desiccant bed — not the line. We’ve done the flow testing to back it up, in house. We run a 6” diameter by 24” tall molecular sieve packed with 4×8 mesh beads. That setup sees a ~9 psi pressure drop at 337 CFM, which limits flow to just 9.86 lbs/min — all due to the bed’s geometry and how tight it’s packed.
So yes, heat input and cooling matter. But if you’re chasing better passive recovery, start by identifying your actual bottleneck.
Design smarter. Know your system.
