While I have your attention, we’ve made a small but important addition to our massage menu.

Over the years, we’ve learned that not everyone is looking for deep tissue pressure, trigger point work, or the feeling of being folded like a lawn chair and put back together again.

Some people are carrying stress, overwhelm, mental fatigue, grief, burnout, or simply the effects of living in a world that seems determined to keep everyone’s nervous system on high alert.

That’s why Maria and Cathy are now offering our new:

Gentle Restorative Massage

This session is designed for people who need less fixing and more replenishing.

Using slow, nurturing techniques, light pressure, and an intentionally calming pace, these sessions focus on helping your body shift out of “go mode” and into a state where rest, recovery, and healing can occur.

This may be a great fit if you:
• Feel stressed, overwhelmed, or emotionally exhausted
• Prefer lighter pressure massage
• Are highly sensitive to deep tissue work
• Need help relaxing but struggle to “turn your brain off”
• Simply want to leave feeling rested instead of worked over

Cathy has received wonderful feedback from those clients seeking relaxation, energy balancing, and gentle bodywork. Maria also brings a naturally calming presence to these sessions with a more light-to-moderate pressure, making both therapists excellent choices for anyone looking to slow down and reset.

If your goal is deep tissue, trigger point therapy, or aggressive knot excavation, Valerie and I are still your people.

If your goal is to feel grounded, restored, and a little more human again, Gentle Restorative Massage might be exactly what you’ve been looking for.

Tower of London raven etiquette:
✔ respectful distance
✔ no sudden movements
✔ no unsolicited touching
✔ intense observational curiosity

Not every ache needs to be attacked.
Not every nervous system wants to be fixed.
And sometimes the most important thing we can do is slow down, stay present, keep a respectful distance, and listen to what the body is actually saying.

Even the ravens at the Tower of London seemed to understand that.

And yes, I kept my hands to myself. Consent matters in bodywork and bird diplomacy.

It has been brought to my attention that we have something a little funky happening with the review link we’ve been sending out.

if you’ve tried the link and it sent you somewhere unexpected, know that you’re not imagining things. Apparently we’ve gotten tangled up with a hot springs resort in Canada. I’m currently trying to get hold of someone in tech-land to help sort it out, which may take anywhere from 10 minutes to three business years.

As you know, in this town you can throw a stone and hit either a real estate agent, a life coach yoga instructor, a contractor, or a massage therapist. Good reviews help our small little business stand out, build trust with new clients, and continue doing the work we love.

So, if you’ve had a great experience with us and would be willing to leave a review, I would be incredibly grateful. Here’s the link:

If your goal is to aggressively excavate knots that have been fossilizing since 2017, I’d recommend waiting for an opening with either Valerie or myself. Valerie currently has a 60-minute opening at 9:00 AM MONDAY, and you can always peek ahead at our upcoming availability later this month.

If relaxation, nervous system support, gentle bodywork, and wonderful energy work are more your style, you’ll likely be delighted with a session with Cathy. Her touch is lighter, her presence is calming, and the feedback from clients has been consistently lovely.

As always, thank you for supporting our little boutique practice. Every appointment booked, referral shared, and review left helps us continue creating a space that feels a little more human and a little less corporate.

With gratitude,
Crystal & the Halcyon Team
