What started as a hobby to fill a void of becoming a empty nesters. I turned my home into a clothing boutique, hosting parties so us women can sip wine, shop and be social. Which turned into a traveling pop up Boutique. We went to Portland, Arizona, California and even Hawaii. After a year of that when Danny got tired of living in a home boutique and being my driver, pop up and tear down helper. I rented a cute little turquoise Gypsy house. It was like my very own big girl doll house, I was opened by appointment only and held private shopping parties. I get bored easily and I needed a little more challenge, the economy wasn't great but I took a leap of faith I went into a "Real" retail location spot on Wall St in Downtown Bend. I was skeptical of the whole idea but was willing to give it a shot. I signed a month to month and before I knew it was 3 years later. I took on another 3 years and here we are. Time flys when you are having fun. So many great times at Gypsy. I have met so many wonderful people, I hosted 288 First Fridays. I have sold thousands of flannels. I changed the store window and floor hundreds of times, because I can't sit still, Gypsy home was also part of this Gypsy journey. I couldn't have done any of it with out the support and help from all my family and friends. I was so fortunate to have family and friends work for me year after year. Gypsy was all in all a wonder part of my life. This chapter is now closed. I plan on being still for a minute and spend more time with my parents, my girls, be a better wife, homemaker, dog mom and prepare for the arrival of our first Grandson and be present for all of the joy that comes with being a Grandma.
So when I'm asked if it's bitter sweet my answer is... it's SOOO SOOO SWEET!! all of it!!
