I've coordinated weddings for many years and the following is a list of some rules I've come up with for wedding guests:
1. Dress appropriately (be modest-no plunging necklines, wear wedges not heels on grass ladies, no jeans guys & please no flip flops!).
2. Be on time (preferably 15min-1/2hr early-if you are late be very careful walking in as you may be walking down the isle with the Wedding Party).
3. Bring a gift (preferably one from the Bride & Groom's registry).
4. RSVP every time by date listed on invitation.
5. Stay for the Reception.
6. Don't bring kids unless it's specifically requested or your kids have a special bond with the Bride or Groom (exception: nursing babies).
7. This isn't about you. It's about the Bride & Groom (keep this in mind with how much you drink, how loud you are, and all of the above).
8. No speeches unless specifically asked.
9. Don't take seconds unless there is a lot left (both dinner & dessert).
