Benbrook Middle-High School

6 academic core spaces, fine arts, life skills/special vocational programs, physical education, media center, administration and support facilities. Shared facilities include a 600-seat auditorium and competition gymnasium, a multi-purpose gymnasium and a cafeteria with a stage. Also on site: parking for 200 cars, a large bus drop-off area, and a hard surface play area with a 4-lane track and playing field. The split-level design of the new school takes full advantage of the steep sloping site and offers an impressive three-story façade. The new middle school is also a Collaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS) Verified facility. One of the key components for CHPS Verified status is the geothermal water source for heating and cooling the entire facility. The principal is Richard Penland.
