Major life events like getting married, buying a home, or having a baby bring significant adjustments — and tax implications! Here are general questions to ask for each circumstance:

💍 Getting Married: What's the best filing status for our financial situation? Should we update our withholding?

🏡 Buying a House: Do I get a tax break when I buy a house?

👶 Having a Baby: Will I be eligible for the child tax credit?

💼 Changing Jobs: I'm making more money. Should I bump up my withholding?

🎓 Sending Kids to College: Can I claim tax credits and deductions for education-related expenses? Does it make more sense for my child to take the credits?

💔 Going Through a Divorce: What filing status do I qualify for after a divorce?

👴 Getting Ready to Retire: Should I be concerned about the tax implications of required minimum distributions? Will I pay tax on my Social Security benefits?

If you've recently experienced a significant life change or expect to, we’re here to help answer these questions, with guidance tailored to your unique situation. Feel free to reach out anytime.

May is here, bringing fresh possibilities and a reminder that great things rarely come from staying comfortable. In business and in life, the willingness to take chances separates those who grow from those who stay stuck.

This month's quote speaks to the heart of entrepreneurship and innovation: It's not about never failing, but it's about never letting fear keep you from trying. The most successful people aren't those who never stumble; they're the ones who keep moving forward anyway.

As May unfolds, we want to hear from you: What's one opportunity you're going to say "yes" to this month? Share in the comments below!

⚠️ WARNING FOR TAXPAYERS ⚠️

The IRS recently introduced a new notice called CP53E related to the government’s move away from paper checks and toward electronic payments. Unfortunately, over 1 million notices have already been issued — many reportedly in error.

Even worse, scammers are now mailing fake “IRS” letters with QR codes designed to steal your banking and personal information.

🚫 DO NOT:
❌ Scan QR codes on unexpected IRS notices
❌ Provide banking information to unknown sources
❌ Panic if you receive this notice

✅ DO:
✔️ Send any IRS notice directly to our office for review before responding
✔️ Let us verify whether the notice is legitimate and whether action is actually required

As part of my volunteer work with the IRS Taxpayer Advocacy Panel (TAP), I am actively working with the IRS to address concerns surrounding this notice and improve taxpayer communications.

If you receive a CP53E notice or any suspicious IRS correspondence, contact us first. We’re here to help protect you from scams and unnecessary stress.
