The Violet Valentine

Happy Thanksgiving (a day late) Friends!
on this beautiful N-Force dahlia from my summer garden. Hoping this weekend to put all my dahlia babies to sleep for the winter, before the rain starts up again.
Life has changed dramatically in the last few months, including going back to a “real” job again. I don’t know what that means for The Violet Valentine and yarn dyeing, but I know I’m still not ready to quit completely. I also know right now I just don’t have the time and energy to dye as I adjust to this new chapter.
But one thing I can say is THANK YOU ❤️ Thank you for every single opportunity, comment, like, purchase and kind word you’ve given me over the years. I am deeply honored and grateful to have been a part of your making journey. This isn’t goodbye, just see you again soon 🥰 Meanwhile, you’ll probably being seeing a lot of regular ‘ol’ project pics and life stuff here if you still choose to check in once in a while. Thank you for being you!

Merry Christmas everyone! 💕
As a gift to myself, I started a new project today X🪡X This is Orange Princess by Nora Corbett. I’m using some fabric I thrifted so the stitch count is different than what the pattern calls for, but I do think the color is a good match. I think this design is bright & cheerful & will help me stitch away some of the winter gloom 🌼
Wishing each & every one of you joy & love today!! 💕

This guy started high school last week. High school. Where does the time go? I am so proud of him. Every day is a challenge for him to find his way in the world & yet he still keeps going, finding ways to make me laugh & bringing so much joy to my life.
Some of you might remember that I used to dye yarn & this space had a lot of knitting & color to share. I don’t like to talk about my personal life much, but the last couple years have been some of the toughest I’ve ever experienced; even harder than going through the pandemic. We have had some big shake-ups & I have been working very hard to provide the support & empathy needed for my guys to thrive. I have very little leftover in my tank most days. And very little creative spark. I don’t know what life is going to bring us during these next 4 years, but I know that my priority lies with my family.
While I am not ruling out getting back into the indie dyer scene, I know that right now just doesn’t feel like a good time for it with all we have going on in our lives. I might try to do some dyeing just for fun, but I’m also not going to push myself just because I think I should.
I want each & every one of you who has supported me, invited me to your store, purchased yarn from me, visited & commented here, or even just said hello, to know that I am deeply grateful to all of you. You have done more to touch my heart than you will ever know 💕 Thank you for everything!! This isn’t goodbye…..it’s more like hope to see you soon!
Much love,
M
