👩🏻‍⚕️The symptoms of your sleep disorder might be invisible but they’re no less REAL.
-One of the most underappreciated consequences of a sleep disorder is relational stress.
When someone is living with obstructive sleep apnea, narcolepsy, insomnia, idiopathic hypersomnia, or another sleep disorder, the symptoms often get dismissed by the people around them. Excessive sleepiness is mistaken for laziness. Fatigue becomes “not trying hard enough.” Irritability is labeled a personality flaw. Canceling plans looks like a lack of interest. Forgetfulness is seen as carelessness. Even needing to nap can be viewed as a lack of motivation.
