Last year at Austin Gray Memorial Scholarship auction, a game was played that I had never heard of but was fun for everyone…
I believe the name is “the poker chip draw” (that’s what I call it anyway)..
Anyway… there is a bag with poker chips inside that are numbered 1-100.
You draw a chip and you pay whatever the number is on the chip (ex. draw 1… pay $1; draw 100… pay $100)
The winner last year won a Golden Boy Henry 22… a beautiful gun!
This year we played the same game and we had the same prize.
BUT… the winner this year was a little extra special for me…
The winner this year that was pulled was #86..
that just happened to be Roy Evans 💚
Not only have the events over this last year with their family loss and the loss of my Austin Gray had us talking and visiting quite often…
But we have a long history anyway.
I was he and his brother, Rusty Evans’ baby sitter when they were kids!
So to say it was super special that he just happened to be the one to win this gun… that we decided to have engraved this year with AUSTIN GRAY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP AUCTION AND BASS TOURNAMENT logo on the stock and his favorite bible verse (Philippians 4:13) on the other side…
Is an understatement….
