Detroit Poet Laureate Jessica Care Moore and Singer Steffanie Christi’an has released the video for “Scorpio,” featuring fellow Woman Rocker Militia Vox . The single is from their forthcoming album, We Are Scorpio. The women stormed the streets of southwest Detroit while singing about the resilience of their astrological sign. They smile and snarl at the camera as they stake out space on the street, and history. The album was born of their desire to reclaim rock and roll’s Black roots. Moore’s album with Christi’an is the next step in her mission as the founder of Black WOMEN Rock! which celebrates 20 years next month. Talib Kweli co-produced the We Are Scorpio album and is featured on “Supa D**a Star.” The duo’s self-titled album drops on August 16th.
