Geneva College

In July 1955, Miss Edna George retired from Geneva to become a resident of the R.P. Home in Pittsburgh. Miss George is known as “the founding mother” of women’s athletics at Geneva.

Over her years at the College, she coached women’s basketball, created an outstanding intramural program for women, and directed the May Day celebrations each spring. After severe arthritis curtailed her work with athletics, she continued on as assistant librarian and as resident dean of McKee Hall for many years.
