PFRS Mortgage refinance update.

The PFRS Board unanimously voted to temporarily suspend Refinance mortgage applications due to the expected drop in the rate. The new rate for PFRS purchase mortgages is expected to be 1.7% which will take effect on or about August 10th . The PFRS Board decided that new rate will be cost prohibitive to allow refinance options on existing mortgage loans, however they have still approved the initial purchase applications to move forward at the 1.7% rate. Some of you may remember years ago that the mortgage program actually ran out of the allotted amount of money in the program during the last historically low rate. I would anticipate that happening again with a rate of 1.7%.

If you had a member in the process of refinancing (application completed, appraisal, etc.) please email the members information and roughly where they were in the process to [email protected] and we should be able to get their application moving again.
