One featured project asks an important question: Is Texas's School District Property Value Study (PVS) serving its intended purpose?

This research will evaluate whether the PVS is fulfilling its statutory role of ensuring equitable state school funding. Through historical legislative review and analysis of public financial data from 2014 to 2024, the study will examine the PVS's impact on school districts, taxpayers, and state spending.

With findings expected to inform the 2026 legislative review of the PVS under H.B. 4326 (89R), this project will provide valuable insight into one of Texas' most significant school finance tools.
