Everyone needs a little help from their friends now and again. This Saturday (March 21st) from 9-1 we need help with our gardens. We REALLY NEED some mulching materials. We are trying to raise about $500. to replace the fruiting plants that didn't fare well after the freezes. Many of these are along our "Sidewalk Orchard" that provides fresh produce to all who walk down Government St. We are a 501(c)3 organization and all donations are tax deductible.

After the Milwaukee Bucks were knocked out of the NBA playoffs in a shocking first-round upset, Giannis - a two-time NBA MVP and NBA Champion - was asked by a reporter:
“Do you view this season as a failure?”

His response? One of the most powerful mindset shifts ever shared in a press conference:

“It’s not a failure; it’s steps to success. Michael Jordan played 15 years, won six championships. Were the other nine years failures?”

This wasn’t just a sports answer - it was a masterclass in growth thinking. And for entrepreneurs, creators, founders, and anyone chasing a big vision, it should be required listening.

Who is Giannis?
A Nigerian-Greek immigrant who sold DVDs on the streets of Athens as a kid. Drafted 15th overall in 2013. No hype, no shortcuts - just relentless work. He transformed himself into one of the most dominant players in NBA history.

But even he doesn’t win every year.
And he’s okay with that.

Here’s how you can apply his wisdom in business and in life:

1. Reframe failure as feedback
Every launch, pitch, or product that doesn’t hit is teaching you something. Don’t ignore the lesson.

2. Build in layers, not leaps
Like Giannis said: “Every year you work towards a goal. There’s steps to success.” Stay committed to the process - not just the prize.

3. Detach your worth from the win
Entrepreneurship is not a highlight reel. Some seasons you build. Some seasons you break. All of it counts.

So next time a deal falls through, the growth slows, or your launch flops… ask yourself:
Is this really a failure - or just a step?

There’s no “failure” in life as long as you keep moving forward.
