Researchers are looking for local families to help advance research that could improve the lives of children with asthma.

Led by LSU Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering faculty Laura Ikuma and Isabelina Nahmens, this U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development(HUD)-funded study is evaluating whether a combination of a HEPA air purifier and HEPA vacuum can improve indoor air quality and reduce asthma symptoms for children living with environmentally triggered asthma.

Families with a child ages 5–17 who has been diagnosed with asthma may be eligible to participate. Participants receive the equipment used during the study to keep after completion.
