Recently I completed strategic planning for Tulane University’s International Health and Sustainable Development Department. Besides educating the next generation of public health professionals, this amazing group of people conducts research and develops solutions that impact the most needy across the world. It was a blessing to work with people that do such amazing work. Tulane’s motto is exemplified by this group, “Not for oneself, but for one's own. ”

Great article. Would only add that after facilitating strategic planning for dozens of organizations, that the process of planning often supersedes the value of the plan itself.
