STILL SOME SPACES LEFT - Sign up now for Jennifer Blanchard’s "ETHNOBOTANY & MEDICINAL PLANTS FOR SOUTHEAST GARDENS" program this Saturday, March 15, from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m.. We've had many inquiries about when she is coming back! Jennifer is the advisor for the undergraduate medicinal plant concentration at Louisiana State University. She has developed a new course focused on the native indigenous plants of Louisiana. With over two decades of experience in botanical research and environmental sciences studies, she is enthusiastic about sharing information on the PROPAGATION and USE of native medicinal plants in the landscape and the benefits these plants provide to human health and the environment. Jennifer is a botanist and Instructor of Horticulture in the School of Plant Environmental and Soil Sciences at LSU and a PhD student with a research focus on the extraction of natural plant products for use in industry. She has extensive botanical work focused on the native medicinal plants of Louisiana, which extends to the Southeastern region of the U.S. In grad school, she worked under renowned botanist Dr. Charles Allen and as a research botanist for The Pollinator Partnership of North America. Cost for members is $6, and $12 for non-members.
