And so it begins 🌴🌀

The National Hurricane Center has issued its first 7-day tropical outlook of the 2026 hurricane season - the good news there are no worries for the foreseeable future.

These early outlooks began in 2021 after multiple years of pre-season tropical storms. The change was made to improve awareness and preparedness ahead of the official start to hurricane season.

Hurricane season itself still runs June 1 through November 30.

👀

You may have noticed termite activity increasing the last few days.

The LSU AgCenter experts recommend:
• Turn off outdoor lights in the evenings to avoid attracting swarmers
• Check for mud tubes along walls, a common sign of termites in your home
• Keep wood, mulch and debris away from your home’s foundation when possible
• Don’t panic if a few termites get in through a door, but swarming indoors is a concern
• Fix leaks and reduce excess moisture, which termites thrive in

If you start seeing mud tubes, indoor swarms or signs of damage, it may be time to call a professional. Learn what to watch for and how to protect your home: https://tinyurl.com/mvn4kwvk

TERMITE SWARM 😳 - That large area of "rain" showing up on radar isn't actually rain... it's TERMITES! Days of heavy rain and soggy soils are perfect for these swarms to take off.

If you're seeing them around lights, windows, or doors tonight.. you are definitely not alone!

Are you noticing them where you are? Drop your location below!
