KJ stopped by to meet our firefighters, check out the fire trucks and equipment, and learn some important fire safety tips. We always enjoy welcoming young visitors and helping them learn how firefighters work to keep our community safe.

BRFD is proud to recognize the promotion of James Magee to District Chief. 🚒

Chief Magee joined the Baton Rouge Fire Department in August of 1998 at the age of 24, as a second-generation firefighter following in the footsteps of his father. For more than 27 years, he has built a career rooted in service, leadership, and a steadfast commitment to the department and the citizens of Baton Rouge.

His promotion to District Chief reflects the trust, experience, and dedication he has demonstrated throughout his career.
