For those living in Louisiana, please consider calling and talking to bill sponsor Rep. Eddie Lambert not to pass the bill HB 1067. HB 1067 is a step in the wrong direction for the environmental integrity of Louisiana and will hinder the use of LEED V4 to help building designs be more thoughtful of their impact on Louisiana's future and environment. Please call Eddie Lambert today and remind him that LEED V4 will help him KEEP Louisiana in a better state of longevity than the lobbyists of the chemical industry are telling him to do. Louisiana is already in a state of damage from the extensive chemical processes that we put it through and HB 1067 will make it even worse. Scotlandville, and North Baton Rouge are proof that our state is suffering. If you can, visit North Baton Rouge to see what I'm talking about. People living there are suffering from the emissions from chemical plants and have to live in it every single day, every minute is another that is killing our environment. If you love Louisiana, call Eddie Lambert today and tell him to stop this bill. This is a critical moment for us to help save Louisiana from being destroyed even more.
January 9th is the day to meet in New Orleans for our first annual committee meetings. Those who are already volunteering in Louisiana, this is a great opportunity to get to know what else is out there for you this year! happy 2014 everyone! http://usgbclouisiana.org/events/event_details.asp?id=387129

What's New, Dover, Kohl & Partners Governor Bobby Jindal announced at a press conference on Tuesday, December 17 that a new "Water Campus" will be built in Baton Rouge Louisiana. Dover-Kohl has been working with the Baton Rouge Area Foundation to design the 30 acre campus that will be the new home of The Water Institute of the Gulf.…
After over a year of hard work, Green Build LSU is now an official student organisation of LSU's campus and we are glad to also be affiliated with the National group.
All, we are going to be adjusting our semester dues. Instead of $0.00 it will now be $5.00.
The professional chapter dues are $25 for LSU students, and $5 of that $25 goes towards the student chapter, but you'll be members of both the professional and LSU chapter and GBCI CMP reporting will be absolutely free instead of $15 for each CMP report that you make.
The benefits of being a professional member or LSU member(whichever you so choose) are pretty special. We hold several lectures every semester and we typically serve some good fresh organic food. If we get more of our student body to sign up as official members, since most of y'all are already attending most of our lectures, you can help us make it even better by contributing to our student fund so that we can get better refreshments and even a regular coffee service for our events. Everyone wins.
Personally, $25 is a very small price to pay for continuing CE credits that are organised right on campus as opposed to travelling to a $30 Webinar event to get your 1.5 CE hours worth if you're really busy and pressed for time. Also, remember we are a nonprofit organisation and every bit counts. Thanks everyone and I hope y'all have a wonderful afternoon!! :)
